Dr. Balan Vijay Kumar completed his MBBS from Goa Medical College, Goa in 1985, and MD (Psychiatry) from Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi in 1991.


Subsequently he worked as Senior Resident at NIMHANS (National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore, India), Lecturer at Christian Medical College, Vellore; and as Assistant Professor at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India. He has been working in the UAE since 1998.


His areas of interest include Psychopharmacology and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

Dr. Elizabeth Kurian earned her MBBS from Government Medical College, Kottayam, Kerala, in 2004, followed by an MD in Psychiatry from St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore, in 2009.


She has served as an Assistant Professor at Pushpagiri Medical College, Kerala, where she played a key role in training and mentoring both undergraduate and postgraduate students.


Actively involved in public health initiatives, she has participated in numerous awareness programs aimed at mental health education and advocacy.


With over 12 years of experience in the UAE, Dr. Kurian specializes in adult psychiatry as well as child and adolescent psychiatry, bringing compassionate and evidence-based care to her patients.

Dr. Thenral Munusamy completed her MBBS from Thanjavur Medical College, Tamil Nadu in 2004. She completed her MD (Psychiatry) from Stanley Medical College, Chennai in 2009. She is also a member of The Royal College of Psychiatry UK (MRCPsych (UK)) since 2022.


After her postgraduate training, she had worked as Assistant, and later as Associate Professor, at Shri Sathya Sai Medical College, Tamil Nadu. She has been practicing in the UAE since 2021.

Dr. Nimitha Jayan is a highly skilled psychiatrist with extensive training and experience in diagnosing and managing a broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders. Although she holds a super-specialty qualification in Geriatric Psychiatry, her expertise spans all age groups—from children and adolescents to adults and the elderly—enabling her to address a diverse range of mental health challenges.


Dr. Nimitha earned her MBBS from Amala Medical College, Thrissur, Kerala in 2012, and went on to complete her MD at MES Medical College, Malappuram, Kerala in 2018. She further advanced her credentials by obtaining a DNB in Psychiatry from NBEMS, New Delhi in 2020. In 2021, she completed her super-specialty training in Geriatric Psychiatry at King George Medical University, Lucknow.


In addition to her core qualifications, Dr. Nimitha has pursued further specialization by completing a Fellowship in Psychosexual Medicine from JSS Medical College, Mysore, and earning a Diploma in Geriatric Medicine from CMC, Vellore. Her comprehensive residency training in both General and Geriatric Psychiatry at renowned institutions across India underscores her deep commitment to mental healthcare.


Following her rigorous training, Dr. Nimitha served as an Assistant Professor in Geriatric Mental Health at King George Medical University. Since 2023, she has been practicing in the UAE, where she continues to expand her clinical expertise.


Her clinical interests include adult, adolescent, and geriatric psychiatry, along with psychosexual disorders. Dr. Nimitha is also actively involved in research on Integrative Mental Health. She is particularly passionate about enhancing her patients’ quality of life by developing personalized treatment plans that seamlessly integrate traditional approaches with modern psychiatric practices.

Dr. Sakshi Rai holds a distinguished academic and professional background in Clinical Psychology. She earned her MA in Psychology from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in 2008 and went on to complete her M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology at the Central Institute of Psychiatry (CIP), Ranchi, from 2009 to 2011. She obtained her Ph.D. in Psychology in 2019 from Ranchi University, with a thesis titled “Digital Social Stories in Improving Problem Behaviour in Children with Pervasive Developmental Disorder.” Dr. Rai was awarded the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) by the University Grant Commission (UGC) in 2008.

 

Professionally, Dr. Rai served as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi, from 2013 to 2019. She then joined the Department of Psychiatry at Christian Medical College, Vellore, where she worked as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology from 2019 to 2024.

 

Dr. Rai is a registered Clinical Psychologist with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). She is also a Professional Life Member of the Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists (PLM 759/11/21) and a Life Member of the Indian Association of Child and Adolescent Mental Health (LM/R-022).

 

Throughout her career, Dr. Rai has supervised over 20 academic research projects and has more than 10 publications in indexed journals. Her areas of interest include various psychotherapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Existential and Person-Centred approaches, and Integrative frameworks in psychotherapy. 

 

She is particularly skilled in clinical evaluations and personality assessments, with extensive expertise in managing OCD, anxiety disorders, personality and mood disorders, ADHD, autism, intellectual disabilities, and learning disabilities.

 

Additionally, she has a keen interest in addressing marital and relational conflicts.

She is licensed by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

 

Upon graduation, she completed internships at Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bangalore, and First Neuro Hospital Autism Centre, Mangalore. These institutions specialize in speech and language therapy for various paediatric cases, including Autism, Down’s Syndrome, Speech Language Delay, Stuttering, and Swallowing disorders.

Hima is highly skilled in providing tailored, evidence-based therapies that focus on improving sensory integration, motor development, and self-care skills. Throughout her career, she has built a strong track record, consistently achieving positive outcomes and receiving high parent satisfaction for the effective results she delivers.
